A Sister's Special Bond
My sister, Robyn, and I are 4 1/2 years apart. We are like any other sisters…we share laughs, tears, and yes, we even argue!
What sets us apart is our special bond. From the moment I saw my sister in the incubator I took on a protective role and it has been that way ever since. In fact, she was the one who inspired me to become an Occupational Therapist. I wanted to help young children, like her, with their daily activities in creative ways. As I mature in my profession, I’ve taken on advocacy and consulting roles with families. Supporting others is in my blood.
My mom often calls us “two peas in a pod”. Why would she call us that when we truly are not alike, you ask? It’s our strong bond and that one pea supports the other in the pod.
Robyn may have many things that others consider limitations in life. However, her determination, humor, and communication strengthen each moment. Along with a smile that lights up the room!
